Question:

Cost and time in adding bathroom

We recently bought a house. We have an L porch in the front and would like to cut off the bottom of the porch to create a bathroom. The porch is about 2 feet off of the ground, with nothing underneath (only a support beam). Would it be difficult for a contractor to make a bathroom there? The outside wall is stucco, so that would be necessary to cover somehow. Thanks

  1. It is always possible to add on. Weather or not it is in the best interest to add on in this location really relies on a good contractor and his engineering. If or when you add on the new addition has to be supported by something, weather it be supporting columns or a foundation. The best suggestion I have is to consult with a local contractor for an opinion. Always remember to get more than one.
