Cost calculation?

i have a machine of 3phase 5hp. using 440v in machine shop.

i want to know how much current will take to run this machine for 1 hour. cost per unit is $1.15.

please give the calculation method.

also have AC:22kw machine what is the meaning of this.

  1. 5 hp is 3.7 kw. Allowing for inefficiencies, that's at least 4.2 kw.

    Electricity costs are usually in the 5 - 10¢ per kw-hr, so at 10¢ that is 42 ¢ per hour.

    Your number of $1.15 per "unit" is not too useful, not knowing what the unit is. The number is very high for kw-hr, the usual unit. But that would make it $4.83

    "AC:22kw" is an air conditioner that uses 22 kw, which is a big AC.
