Cost of 74 VW Super Beetle Carb Rebuild...?

Cost to rebuild should be around $200. That includes setting it back up to run correct. One thing on those carb's you have to look out for is wear in the throttle shaft. If you have any wear in them its going to pull air in and the car will not run correctly no matter who rebuilds it. Find a shop in your town that has worked on VW for a long time and have them look at it before you spend money.!

a good  machanic should be about 100.00 - 150.00. i know this sounds high but, the hourly rates are way up there now.. ..  are you sure its carburated and not the insane bosch fuel injection ? thats alot more and hard to fix.. if you know someone that has some mechanical skill, you could have them help or do it yourself.. they are easy to do and the parts are available..
