Cost of Rubber Playground Chips?

Question

I'm curius if anyone has purchased the rubber tire chips for their swingset area. What was the cost? How big of an area did you create and how deep did you go with the chips? Did you use black or colored chips? What brand? Are you happy with the area?

Rubber surfaces made from old tires and from foam rubbers are VERY hot in the sun.  It has been known to get as hot as 160-degrees Farenheit on the surface!

More and more municipalities are removing them due to deterioration problems as well.

ive only seen it used in flowers bed-along with heat tolerant landscaping- walmart sells it now believe it was 18 per bag-(expensive )may i suggest you use pea gravel instead-local gravel company would sell it
