  1. I do not find it that expensve right now. I get free formula. Nappies are £4.00 for a big pack and clothes are very cheap thease days.

It all depends on where you shop.

  2. wipes, diapers, and jarred foods aren't necessary things to buy, granted they are easier to have but, you can easily get by, by buying just fruits and veggies and pureeing them up, or better yet if you baby led wean, you dont even need to puree because feeding pureed foods teaches a baby not to chew.

So, if you are in need of a dollar amount I would say 30.00 like the rest of them, but I easily go by with less than that a month with my son. Granted I do by him a set of clothes and toy every month but thats not the basics.

  3. for the basics we probably spend $40ish Canadian a week... thats diapers, whipes, formula and produce that I puree for his food. But I'm always picking up little things for him so its porobably a bit more... its hard to resist things for a baby when the money is there anyways...

  4. Use cloth diapers, cloth wipes, make food and freeze it in ice cube trays, breastfeed and shop at secondhand and consignment stores for clothes and equipment.

I'm in the US so I son't know the conversion to euros, but you will save A LOT of money if you use cloth diapers instead of disposables.

  5. A lot less if you breast feed!!

  6. It's the loss of earnings tha costs the most...2 people living on one wage. If you are worried, visit your local freecycle site...its a yahoo group where people give stuff away...google the name of your biggest nearest town and freecycle.

  7. my daughter is 6 months old and it costs me 70 euro per month for formula, nappies and wipes, of course if you breast feed it will be loads cheaper but i cant breastfeed due to medical reasons. I make my own food and freeze it in ice cube trays twice a month so it doesnt cost that much for a few bits of fruit and veg!but babies cost way more loads than food and nappies!you have all the extra washing to do, clothes to buy as they constantly grow, trips to doctors and in my case hospitals, toys, and i have just had to buy a cotbed, matress and bedding and highchair and will soon have to buy a new car seat as she is getting to big for the one that shes had since she was born. The costs are never-ending but their worth it!

  8. I would guess about an extra 30 euros but i am doing that from converting england prices to euros. It depends on each child how much they poo and how much they eat don't for get its not just the food bill that goes up you spend more money doing all the extra washing and extra trips to the doctors for weigh ins and things.

  9. Wow, it sounds like your baby will be expensive!

I don't buy disposable nappies, wipes, jarred baby food or infant formula.  If you're concerned about expenses, you can use cloth diapers and wipes and breastfeed.  You have lots of choice in how much your baby costs.

  10. lots of dosh mate napies are expensive clothing is too and all the little extras that cost the earth

  11. I can't help you with the Euros amount, but this is what it costs me to take care of my 6 month old in American dollars per week:

    Diapers: $8

    Formula (generic): $15 (1+ cans)

    Gerber food: $7

    Wipes: $2

    Daycare: $125

That doesn't include doctors appointments, clothes, toys, tylenol, bath supplies, etc.
