  1. well... the cost depends on where you live... Canada or US? (sorry.. i dont know $ for other places)

it will cost you anywhere from 30$ to like 60$.... you need:

    wheel

    chew sticks

house to hide in (a wooden one s good... i personally have a grass hut thing for my hamsters)

and yeah, thats pretty  much it... =]

  2. It depends on the size and how fancy you want it. You can get nice size cage for $15 bucks. Try looking at PetSmart, Pet Co, some Wal Marts carry cages too.

  3. Well, insted of a tank you can get a cage. There are plenty of mouse/ hamster cages at PetSmart, Petco etc. You should get him some mouse toys, maybe a toilet paper roll? Some chew toys are easy to get at any pet store so it shouldn't be to hard. Another mouse won't be to bad either. So it could have company while you're gone. You can't go wrong with a running wheel! Mouses love them!

Here is an awsome cage you could buy for him:

If you buy this one you won't need to buy a water bottle, food bowl & a running wheel.

I hope this helped you out. :)

  4. you don't need to buy cages from a pet store! i used two large storage containers, clip top life, with large holes drilled in the top. It was easier to carry/move then a cage and deep enough they couldn't climb to the lid and get out. Plastic also means they can't gnaw through it (like wood) and if it does happen to get knocked over, they wont get hurt in shattering glass (kamikaze cat did that and the lid didn't even come off!)

You should a water bowel they can't tip over, little ceramic ones do really well as well as a water bottle to hang from the side. THat way they should never run out of water. The little ceramic bowels do great for food bowels too.

You need to get a little house like thing that the mouse can make a nest in. Get a wheel for him to run on and get tubes that he can run through. I also found putting wood in there to chew on was a great thing. Anything that they can climb on or through or chew is a wonderful thing! sometimes putting new types of food for them to try will keep them stimulated as well
