  1. I'm sure it depends on the veterinary office.  The office I work at, they prefer to do PPEs at the office since we have good facilities, plus, should x-rays/ultrasounds/endoscopy be needed, the equipment is all there.  That said, we charge an office visit ($25) plus $95 per hour for the PPE.  Most basic exams can be done in an hour.  (Heart, breathing, eyes, external genitalia, teeth, basic lameness exam including flexions and hoof tester exams)  If anything suspicious turns up, the potential purchaser can decide at that time whether to proceed with further diagnostics, or end the exam at that point.  I think about the cheapest one we did was $50....the horse was lame when it was unloaded, some minor flexions to pinpoint the problem area, and the horse was passed on.  But, on the top end, we've done some high dollar competition horses, shot many, many x-rays, endoscopy, ultrasounds...bill was close to $1500.  But I guess if you're paying 6 figures for a horse, you for sure want to know as much as you can.

  2. depending on the number of horses it should be about 100 to 150 per horse. and if u have one horse thats not that bad. my beagle costed us about 500 dollars just to get neuterd and have his duclaws removed.

  3. Since I don't live in Michigan, I can't help with a price, but, you should be able to all around to equine vets in your area and get an idea of the cost.  Good luck and good thinking to have a vet check before buying!

  4. I am not trying to be rude, but if the cost of the vet check is a problem, what will you do when the time comes you need a vet for your horse because of an ailment or injury?? Also feed and hay are increasing in cost to owners. As the others have mentioned, the cost is $100 to $150 for a vet call.

  5. Is the vet coming to you or are you taking him to the vets premisis ?

Absolute maximim, $150...Please find a vet that will come to you, much less stress on your baby..

  6. well, i dont know. maybe about 300 dollars max?

  7. a regular one should be about 40-50 dollars. depending on what they do. an emergency visit might be less or more expensive. depending on what they do.   the first visit should be about 60.00 dollars to cover all of the shots and stuff. a neuter or spayed should be about 120.00 a peace.

  8. It could cost around $100. Horses are expensive. Good Luck with your Horsey!

  9. With x rays (strongly recommend) and blood work, around $500.00. I don't know how much of that is for the x rays and the blood, so I'm going to guess it may cost $100.00 to $200.00 depending on how much time the vet spends, if the horse is longed and observed, etc. I base this on the Illinois area.
