Ok, so I want to get braces. They dentist did an examination of my teeth and told me my braces would cost about $4,000. That would include the start-up cost, which is $500, and my braces will be kept on for 24-30 months. So that would be $116 each month after the start up cost. Now, I know braces cost cost a lot, but this is a new place that just opened up. I want to know if if I am getting a good value 4 my money. I dont want anyone ripping me off. And if so,is there another place I can go 2 if it is cheaper? (for braces?)

  1. i have  braces and they costed $5000

  2. thats pretty cheap because mine were on for 24-28 months and it was about 4600 and my places is always full but some insurance does cover a lot of it

  3. Mine were only like 2500

research some other places that your parents insurance covers

  4. I'm from Australia and I had them one top and bottom for around 15 months, and that cost around $1700 I think.  They are well worth having a great smile =]

  5. if you want them done right (and trust me its absolutely painful if they dont) it would cost around $4,000.

  6. wait how old are you to be getting braces...didnt your rents do somethin about it when you were younger...

all i can say is ..get a better job!

  7. without dental insurance, about 5000 dollars.

  8. I got Invisalign (clear braces) and they were 3,500 after insurance.

  9. That is about right ,Im from Georgia and I paid 4200 for my sons braces at 118.00 month for 2 years but he still has his on its been 3 years,I think his next visit they are coming off.

  10. i got mine at the local university and i was still in high school. They had a program with orthodontics and students in there last years doing practice will practice on you. It will take longer but i saved A LOT of $. It was supposed to be $6000 with a normal ortho but i got them for $2000.

So check if your local university has a ortho sector that is open to the public.

  11. i'm not sure if in total or the base price of my braces was 6000 so yeah that seems about right..sorry !

    Mimi

  12. dont get braces! they suck like h**l i hadp braces and got my bottoms put on today i feel like ripping them off. hopefully these stupid things will come off soon

  13. 1100$$ kk plz rate best anwser

  14. I go to Castle Dental, and it costs me 2000 dollars, but that's with my dental insurance. If you don't have dental insurance, get it soon. Usually they are kept on for about two-three years. They don't actually take them off in approximately two years. That is just a time for you to know beforehand. I really don't think you can get them cheaper.

  15. WELL I'VE HAD BRACES FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND I HAVE TO WEAR THEM ANOTHER YEAR AND MINE COST AROUND 5, 000 SO U MIGHT BE GETTING A DEAL

  16. Of course there is another place!!  Ok, so see if there is a University that is close or a tech school that is close that has a school of Dentistry program.  They will charge you probally 1/4 of the cost of going to an actual dentist because you will have students working on you!  BUT, dont panic they will have Doctors watching and approving everything that they do.  I had my teeth done there and they are straighter then any other person's.

    Hope that helps!

  17. Idk of where to go but u may want a 2nd opinion b/c i have braces and my teeth were severaly messed up and i had to have a lot of work done and at the beginning they only told my estimated time would b 18 months but ive had them for almost 2 years. of course i had a baby tooth that wouldn't come out so it delayed work so i would recommend you get a 2nd opinion

  18. It doesn't sound like you are getting ripped off. It is hard to say though because we don't know how bad your teeth are. Everybody's teeth are different, therefore, the orthodontist will have to adjust your braces differently. This could raise or lower the cost. You could go to another orthodontist and compare their estimates. When it comes to your teeth though, I think you should pick an orthodontist based on quality and not price. Talk to other patients and see how satisfied they are. I hope this helps!
