  1. It depends on the kind of food and the area. Tourist areas are more expensive, and larger cities too.

For example, the average cost of a Coca Cola on a bar is aproximately 1.7€ / $2.65

The cost of a McMenu on McDonals (one of the cheapest restaurants) is aproximately 5.5€ / 8.6€

Chinese restaurants are also among the cheapest. A typical menu cost about 5-6€ / aproximately $9

    A kebab between 3€ - 4,5€ / $4.7 - $7

    A pizza, it depends, usually 6€ - 8€ / $9.3 - $12.5. In tourist areas is more expensive, aproximately 12€ - $18.7

Typical Spanish food or good restaurants (I mean, not fast-food), depends, between 10€ (or even less) and so (even 20,30... €)

You can spend less than 15€ per day if you chooce cheaper restaurants.

  2. Depends on where you're going...

    hmm

on average about 20 to 30 euros.

    eh?

    about 32 to 47 dollars

  3. What is the cost for food for one day in your home town?... well... your question is just as broad.

I can live on less than $5 in food per day just about anywhere and especially in Spain where a baguette and a bottle of sangria costs about $2

The cost of food for one day depends on HOW WELL YOU WANT TO EAT and if you can only talk AmeriKan, so you can order in Amerikan and not Spanish.  The best prices are in parts of any city where the meals and service are NOT in AmeriKan...

When I am traveling I allow $10 per day for everything including food.  However, if you MUST have tablecloths on the tables and Vino fino with every meal, then you need $50 or more per day.

I prefer to eat from  the sidewalk vendors and if I really want to sit down to eat, then I keep moving until I can no longer read the restaurant signs in English.

  4. I don't think I spent, for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a couple of snacks, more than 30€/day while we were in Spain last year.  And that would include the occasional expensive meal, as well as going to supermarkets, and mercados to buy picnic stuff.

That would be a per person cost.

    30€ comes to $47.00

  5. I think you shouldn't worry about money on vacation, have a set amount and have fun with it.

  6. You need to elaborate a little more. Are you talking the cost of food from the supermarket or are you talking about eating out. If you are talking about eating out, it will depend on where you are and what you want to eat. You could get a coffee and bocadillo for breakfast for €2 - €3 euros, menu del dia for lunch €7 and for dinner, if you just want something simple €10. On top of that you can add a bottle of wine. In a restaurant that would be about €8.

Those prices are where I live, but if you go to the tourist areas or somewhere like Barcelona, then expect to pay more.

    $2  =  Ã¢Â‚¬1.25 apprx.
