  1. i don't know  the post office weight scale BUT i would say less  than  $10.00.

  2. Insurance purchased online is limited to $500, whereas insurance purchased at any Post Office facility is available in amounts up to $5,000.

    Fee Insurance Coverage

    $1.65 $0.01 to $50

    $2.05 $50.01 to $100

    $2.45 $100.01 to $200

    $4.60 $200.01 to $300

    $5.50 $300.01 to $400

    $6.40 $400.01 to $500

Express Mail service provides insurance up to $100 free of charge. Additional incremental insurance for Express Mail up to $5,000 costs (Note: Insurance up to $500 may be purchased online, insurance exceeding this amount must be purchased at the local Post Office):

..and you do have to have proof of value of the item insured to collect if it is lost or damaged.

  3. Go to the www.usps.com website.  You should also know that if you do lose your dress (i hope u don't) you will need a receipt to prove the value of the dress they won't just take your word for it.

  4. Go to usps.gov and it will tell you there!
