My husband is from Los Angeles and we are going to move there in a month. I don’t think I can find a job there immediately. We will live with parents some time. I want to know if some 1300 USD is enough for 2 months(until I find a job). I doubt a lot. Even though I imagine that I don’t have lots of expenses and I am with my husband. Anyway, I am nervous. We depart in a hurry and I don’t manage to save more. I want to know what is the cost of public transport? How much is an English class for advanced users? And is it possible that I don't find a job(office management or stuff like this) more then 2 months? Will I be able to survive till I find a job. I remind that I have a place to live and possibilities to get a job.

Thank you very much!

  1. That's about a months rent, but you would be living with your parents

Gas is very expensive, adn our public transportation sucks.   I spend about $300 a month on gas itself.

  2. some places charge 800$ monthly for a one bedroom

but 2-3 bedrooms vary from 950-2500$

well gas is expensive so i take buses and subways instead

    1.25 for regular fare

    5.00 for day pass

and they sell week passes and month passes

and for the jobs you could find but you have to look pretty hard

  3. Well, the rent on my 1 bedroom apt is 1200/month.  But I moved here from orange county just before gas spiked up and now I live across the street from the office instead of a 1 hour commute.  If you have a Car or plan on getting one Gas is getting close to 5 bucks a gallon.

Since it sounds like you may not be from California so you be paying out of state tuition which is higher than for someone who grew up local.  But check out the local junior colleges in the area you move to that will be the cheapest bet for getting college started.

I think you can get a monthly bus pass for like I'm gonna say fifty bucks. It was 35 when I was in college back in the '90's.

I think 1300 outta be okay if you live cheap for 2 months and mom and dad are putting a roof over your head.
