Cost of living in shanghai

Hi,

I have been offered a position in telecom marketing in shanghai, and whereas i dont know the exact renumeration, basic salary amounts to 10000 rmb. Is it sufficient for a family of four to lead a comfortable life there. how much does a 2 br apartment cost in a relatively cheaper place.

Is it 10,000 per month? If that's the case, yes it is enough to live in Shanghai. The cost of living in Shanghai is one of the highest in the country, renting a two bedroom apartment isn't cheap either. 10,000 is sufficient in a way if you spend it wisely.

10000 ???? Do u have any kids ?? If yes, 10K is not enough . 2BR flat would cost u 4000 in a decent area and 1000 would be other charges ....

Well, if you don't have any kids/ school going kids, 10,000 would be just OK .

10000 is enough if you don't go to the bars every night or have a expensive girlfriend, if you're frugal, even 5000 will be enough, but family of 4?.....a little tight to tell the truth, a friend of mine used to rent a apartment with her roommate in a "cheap" area, averagely decorating, the apartment was 46 square meters which cost 1800rmb in total, didn't include electricity, ac and water though, and it was 2 years ago, so you do the math.
