Cost of new vehicle papers?

Ok, so I looked at an ad for a truck, but it has no papers to it.

My mother said that if you get the serial number off the vehicle or something like that you can pay the DMV to have new papers made up for the vehicle so it can be inspected and registered.

I was just wondering how much this might cost, Noting that I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I know prices may vary throughout provinces.

That's not your job.

That is the job of the seller.  If the seller is NOT doing it or can't do it, then there is some problem (like stolen) and you don't want that headaches.

I wouldn't buy the car if it has no papers your just asking for trouble. You never know...it might be stolen.
