Will this ever go down?

What would need to happen for it to go down?

I hear in saudi arabia the cost of a liter is 6 or 7 pence....

I dont see why performance cars are still being brought out when driving it will soon be exclusively for the rich.

Considerd the new Focus RS that is coming out but whats the point when im going to get bent over and rodgered when i get to the petrol station, sort insurance out , tax etc

  1. Its the tax in UK that makes it so extortionate..

  2. Petrol will never go down, the government says

it will rise before it stabilises,it will reach £2.00

    a litre by 2010.

With China & India needing more and more

oil,the Arabs say by keeping prices high it

will make oil deposits last longer

  3. The cost of diesel and Petrol in the U.K. is Government greed.

Bet you life if a General Election was imminent, prices would fall. I wonder why?

  4. I do hope it goes down. We have a Mercedes S class and finding it really hard to fill the petrol tank.

  5. its not going down in fact there talking about raising the tax by 2 pence a litre in October

  6. It can't be that dear yet. I travel a high grade dual carriageway late evenings at 65-70 mph and nearly all the cars that pass me are S reg or older. And they use full throttle when pulling away from the lights.  Admittedly they are obviously making economies with regard to shampoo and wax...............

  7. I work in an oil company and we only charge 5% on VAT. The cost price for oil has risen dramatically due to the middle east withholding oil production so unfortunatly the price for customers has to increase too. The problem lies in the middle east but I really hope the oil comes down again soon.

  8. Yeah and I saw one answer from a guy in dubai who says he can fill his car up there for £3 [equiv.] - about a pint in the pub.

The future for motoring is not the internal combustion engine.  It's going to be an all electric world and not too far ahead either.

Yeah, I know, you think electric cars are square boxes which do about 15mph and have to be recharged after 50 miles or so.  You must be thinking of the local milk float.

Get a load of this - and Ferrari - eat your heart out.....

The company who make the above car will soon go into production with a family type car - hopefully with simlar excelleration - somewhere in the £17,000 bracket.

A long time ago,  Henry Ford came out with his first Model T Ford car - he proclaimed to an eagerly awaiting public, "this car will run on ethanol - fuel of the future".  Hmmmm!
