Cost to enter the colosseum in rome?

I want to know how much it cost to visit the colosseum in rome.

( us money or euro are both good)

I was just at the Colliseum on May 24th.  The ticket cost 11 Euros and it included the Colliseum, Palatine Hill, Mostra & Foro.  There was no student discount for U.S. students.  However, European students received discounts.  The line was about 1 hour.  If you go on a guided tour, you can skip the line.  I would definitely set aside a half day for the Colliseum and Palatine Hill.  Have fun! :)

11 Euros is right. there is going to be a long line. you can skip it if you get a guided/ audio tour, but it costs more. buuuut if you don't want to stand in line a long time or shell out the cash for an audio guide (the audio guide was barely worth it, i say get a travel book or something on it) then buy the ticket on Palatine Hill (by the Roman Forum right across from it). it's a shorter line and you can bypass the long line of people waiting to buy tickets. although it closes half an hour to an hour before sunset. sooo make sure you can get in. i bought mine and went into the roman forum. it was almost 4 and it was closed. had to buy another ticket...lame. i have a few more things to say but figure this has been long enough. email me if you want to know more.

the ticket costs 11 euros and includes palatino hill and foro imperiali. to skip the outrageously long line; either buy the ticket at palatino hill or buy the roma pass. you can also pre book using a guided tour but the audio guides and didactic tours available at the coloseum are good enough. (the palatine doesnt have any audio guides or tours)

I know someone that works there, and they have told me that it cost 11 or 12 euros.
