Just wondering how much it's going to cost me to use both Eastlink and Citylink, return from Frankston, Vic, to Avalon Airport. I already have an account set up

  1. About $80-100 each way.

  2. I don't understand why you'd use Eastlink OR Citylink.

Jump on the Nepean Highway... it's free.

Then (at St Kilda junction) take the turnoff to go up Kingsway... free.

Get on the Westgate Freeway (just before Crown Casino)... free.

    Over the Westgate Bridge... free.

And Avalon's about 10-minutes out of Geelong (back towards Melbourne).

Eastlink takes you to Ringwood.  The only reason you'd use Eastlink and Citylink from Frankston is if you were going to Tullamarine Airport.

If you're really determined to use the Tollway (and pay for a trip that's otherwise free), you could get on the M1 (via Cranbourne).  You'd then be up for the toll between Toorak Road (through the Domain tunnel) to the Westgate Freeway, which is about $5.30.

Personally, I'd go the Nepean Highway.  Yes... there are traffic lights and such like, but the bottleneck on the tollway (especially at peak times) means it takes just as long... and you pay for the privilege of sitting in your car going nowhere fast.

  3. First of all, you shouldn't use BOTH Eastlink and Citylink, only Citylink.

    What you should do is:

Go northbound on the Nepean Highway

Turn right at Warrigal Road after 20km

Continue straight until you get to M1 (Monash Freeway) and turn left (there are signs there)

Continue straight, following the signs to the West Gate Freeway & Bridge until the exit to Avalon Airport

    It should cost you $5.30

Safyre's directions are excellent as well
