Question:

Cost to have tall shrubs removed

We have some tall (8-10ft) next to our garage that need to be removed. We would like to put in a new garden, but the shrubs have thick roots (1-2" thick) that are probably going to be too tough to get out ourselves and I don't think it would be good to build a new garden over the roots.

Does anyone know about what it would cost to have these removed. There are a total of 6 that need to be yanked out.

Thank you so much for your help and advice!

  1. cut them to the ground and paint with stump kill.  lay the stems on the grounded pointed away from the house. bury under 2'=3' dirt. add soil and amendments for your new garden. if the shrubs come back they can be a foundation plant or pruned out. what is the name of the shrub?

  2. Depends who you use. If you get a professional company to remove them it will be a lot more expensive than hiring some muscle. Seeing as you do not want to save any of them I would go for the muscle and then find out about hiring a stump grinder and do that bit yourself.
