Costa Rica- Getting from Monteverde to Malpais?

Question

Does anyone know how to go about getting from Monteverde to Malpais and how much it will cost? I have looked every where online and I can't seem to find an answer. I would like to go by bus and ferry (no planes, no private services).

Everything JD says its right, just wanted u to know that on ur way back, there's a direct bus from MalPais to SanJose, it costs 5000 colones that includes the ferry...Have a nice trip! Oh yeah and while u r there go to the ice cream store on the crossroad between malpais and santa teresa and get some ceviche...hmmm it's the best really!

get the bus from monteverde to puntarenas. then the ferry to paquera. at paquera, the bus waits for 10 mins for the people for the people of the ferry, and at cobano (45-60 min ride), get off and then the mal pais bus that is the same stop that you got off. its like ¢3000 colones all together, from monteverde to mal pais
