Anyone have any ideas about Costa Rican (southern side) beach resorts? Beach side open air rooms, small quaint places?

  1. Costa Rica's southern pacific is kind of the final frontier, it is green year round, it gets a lot of sun & rain...thats why its green year round.  Tourism is much less built up down there than up in the Central Pacific Coast or down in Guanacaste.

There are a lot of small towns that extend from Domincal to Pavones and you will find a few large resorts and remote -every expensive eco lodges.

Near Corcovado you will find a great place the Corcovado Tent Camp, outstanding food amazing setting in a deluxe tent with a hard wood floor.

Between Domincal and Uvita you will find some nice places as well:

It is a really nice part of the country but if you go down there definitly stay down there for 4-5 days minimum it is the real Costa Rica, so it is hard to get to but worth the journey when you get there.

  2. Tamarindo

  3. The above poster either has no idea what she is taking about or hasn;t been to Tamarindo in the past 10 years. Tamarindo is full of 6 story condominiums and expensive hotels for gringos.

The only rustic beach huts I've seen in my many tripos to Costa Rica are the beachside thatched huts at Las Olas in Samara
