Hi, I have my plane ticket but no room reservations yet. I'm looking for a beach front home, bungalow, cottage, or cabin.

I've found several place for $150-$500 a week and asked tons of questions to all the owners I write/speak to. I still am at a loss of where to pick for my honeymoon stay. I will break it down for you as to what I'm looking for: To be able to wake up to a quite(when I say quite I mean free from man-made noise) beach right outside my door, where I can relax on the beach, go swimming with beautiful soft sand free of barnacles, clams, and other debris beneath my feet, not have to worry about sting rays or jelly fish or any other sea creatures around, close enough to life that I could walk to get a bite to eat but far enough away not to hear the noise, where I'd see 5-10 people on the beach a day. I've looked at houses all over but currently have interest in house in 4 place: Tambor, Esterillos Oeste, Playa ***** and Montezuma. Where should I go? Times ticking....

  1. First, Avoid Montezuma...... I'm a fan of Samara.....I've never had any problems there... they have several nice hotels in town on the beach.... The place I stay at is a few miles from town(also about 1/4 mile from a beach). It's off the main drag and really relaxed. The name is the Flying Crocodile.

I've lived here for 3 years. As long as your careful you should have no problems...... Esterillios is also nice as well as Tambor............Good luck!!!!

  2. You should definitely stay on the Pacific side.  However, if you stay in Quepos or Jaco, you will end up with a lot of people and noise around you.  The best beaches, with the soft white sand that you are talking about are on the north Pacific shore, but the prices are quite high.  I suggest that you go to the TicosLand website and try contacting the travel agencies or the real estate places that cater to tourists.  You will find some really good prices since you are coming in August.  Act knowledgeable and let them know that "YOU KNOW" that it is the tourist low season.  It doesn't pick up again until around November.  You should be able to find something in your price range.

  3. \you should check out places in the papagayo area.

    I love it there..

i reccommend making a plan of where u are going ahead of time.  it will make ur stay more easy and more fun.

definitely stay on the pacific side of cr.

    be safe and have fun!

    pura vida mae

  4. Check out Quepos on the Pacific side of CR! Its real close to Manuel Antonio Park - which is one of the more popular ecological parks in CR.

Just got back myself in June and I go there once a year!

You can rent a single apt for about $250.00 + a month!

    Buena Suerte!
