We will be in transit that is overnight, arrival at 1:30pm into San Jose. Where should we stay ? We will be going out partying in town. Is the Intercontinental worth it, in terms of distance from downtown San Jose. What would you recommend.

  1. There is really only "One" hotel in downtown San Jose!

    Its the Hotel Del Rey!

Its about 20 minutes from SJO airport but well worth the trip!

The Del Rey has a Casino as well as the Worlds most beautiful women who greet you with a friendly "Hello Baby!  You want some company tonight"?  (24-7)

And their best beer - IMPERIAL and IMPERIAL LIGHT only costs $1.00 USD a bottle on top of that!

You will have the time of your life!

I Will be going there again in June!

    VIVA LA PURA VIDA!

    Good Luck!

  2. Your best research site apart from the tips you will receive here is the official tourism site for Costa Rica. They do it very well and can answer emails for you:

    Costa Rica :http://www.tourismrankings.com/Costa-Ric...

For hotels, Cheaperthanhotels have a large number of locations available so it might be worth checking out the arrangements:

    Costa Rica -http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com/Costa-R...

    San Jose -http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com/Costa-R...

I don't know the Intercontinental - but i presume taxi cabs will be no problem.

The Clarion  is in San Jose's Historical area , the located near the city's cultural, shopping and entertainment / night life. It also only  5 miles [ 9 kms ] from the airport. Sounds like you're simply going to sleep and party, so maybe this would be worth considering - plus it seems it might be cheaper.

  3. Intercontinental is 25min away form the airport. It is a really nice hotel, close the Multiplaza, the nicest shopping mall in the city. It may be a bit pricy and Im not sure you will find space right now.

Depends on the type of nitelife you want. As the one dude said, Del Rey is the place if youre interested in hookers and gambling.

But if you want some REAL nitelife, I would say look for a hotel close to Escazú, Santa Ana or just stay downtown San José. You wont have to take a cab for more than 25-30min to get to any place in San José.

    How old are you?
