Costa Rica or Panama?

Question

We are trying to decide where to move. Which place do you think is better, regarding: property values, cost of living, beach house to mountain house, culture,and which would be an easier transistion from the US?Please let me know why you have chosen one and not the other. Help.

Costa Rica....my boyfriend's entire family lives over there and we've visited several times. It's a great place with very affordable housing and lots of job opportunities in San Jose...word of advice...work in San Jose but do not live there, crime is very in the city but once you get just outside the city it peaceful and quiet. That's also where you'll find the best value on housing. Hope that helped!

I think that is a very personal choice. Have you been to either of the countries?

As far as for Costa Rica the property values has been increasing tremendously over the past 5 years and I don't see it stopping soon. Beach houses are more expensive vs mountain houses and you have to make sure you can get residency.

I don't know Panama so I cannot answer that part of the question but I think if you went to both you would get a vibe from both and choose the best one.
