Costa Rican Travelers or Natives?

Which has a nicer beach? More quite, clean, safe, and densely populated: Cahuitas-- Playa ***** (black), Tambor, or Esterillos Oste?

Go to Cahuita is a beutiful beach, very peaceful. It is close to another beach/town you can visit, Puerto Viejo.

Cahuita's beaches  definitely beats Tambor (not for the black beach but for the nice reef and the white sand beach just inside the park.  I have never been to Esterilos Oeste.  Neither Tambor nor Cahuita are densely populated but since Tambor is a gated resort it would be safer.

I'd say Tambor, I prefer Guanacaste's beaches. But I know that Cahuita is beautiful as well, I've never been there but I've heard that is great.

The beach inside Chauita National park is really nice - gentle and warm waves. An even better beach is at Punta Uva south of Puerto Viejo

Esterillos oeste: ugly.... esterillos zone has 3 beaches: esterilos este, esterillos centro and esterillos oeste. If you are planning to go esterillos, please go to esterillos este.

Esterillos Este it's excellent if you are planning to surf, also it's near from playa hermosa, jaco.. it's really nice

esterillos it's nearly unpopulated, but it's near from jaco... the biggest beach downtown in all our pacific coast

tambor:nice. there are a lot of hotels and things to do. And it's really beutiful.

Cahuita: i have never visit it but I have heard it's beautiful. it's in the caribbean coast to it's far away from SJ. I

I'd preffer tambor, but as i told you I have never go to cahuita

I stayed at Barcelo Resort at Tambor beach.  Even though the hotel was packed, you could count the people on the beach on your two hands and have fingers left over.  It was incredibly beautiful and private.

We stayed in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, in southeastern Costa Rica. What a beautiful country, awesome beach & great surf, if your into that.
