  1. Calella de la costa is usually know just as Calella, which is where you're going. I live not far from there and can tell you a little about the place. If you're looking for a good party holiday then it's the place for you. There are plenty of pubs and bars there as well as all kinds of restaurants. Most of the people speak English, although it always helps to know a few words. The web site of Calella town hall is quite interesting to look at and it's in English too.

There is a beer festival in October but I don't know the dates.

As someone said, taking a day trip to Barcelona is a must, the trains are quite frequent.

The weather here at the moment is chargeable, we've had showers but it's quite hot.

    Have a good holiday!

  2. sorry no idea .////////////////

  3. Actually there are 2 Calellas...

Both are on the Costa Brava, in a privileged area...

One is in Barcelona province, the other in Girona.

The one in Barcelona is between St. Pol de Mar and Pineda de Mar.

The one in Girona is on the beach between Palafrugell and Palamos.. I've often gone past them, but never stayed in the area... as I have family in Barcelona.

The only programmed Fiesta is Nuestra Señora de La Merced, which is on september 25th. in Barcelona. (a local holiday)

And the 12th. of october which is a national holiday (Dia del Pilar & Fiesta de la Hispanidad)( which is the big fiesta in Zaragoza and also in Madrid.)

(You'd have better luck with fiestas in southern Spain...

The feria de San Miguel which is the last week in september in Torremolinos, and the Feria de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Fuengirola the weekend of the 7th. of october)

Have a good trip, and enjoy your stay!

  4. Calella is ok, plenty of bars and a few nice eating places.

Decent beach although look out for sharp drops if you have kids.

Barcelona is good for a day trip also.
