  1. For a Honeymoon, Monte Zuma and Playa Tambor are very nice and romantic places. I gotta warn you, the only side effect you might get from going there is the desire to live there for ever.

  2. Anytime is a great time to visit Costa Rica.  August is still the rainy season, meaning it will probably rain for an hour or 2 each day.  Renting a car is one option, but know that the raods are HORRIBLE, and lond distance travel at night is not a very good idea because of this.  Roads not well lit and lots of pot holes (some very big).  You can fly Sansa from San Jose to Quepos, Golfito, Puerto Jimenez, and somewhere in Guanacaste.  Other than Costa Rica moves by bus.

I wouldn't suggest  Volcano trips in Aug.  Too cloudy in the mountains to see.  There are several National Parks for hiking to see animals and vegetation.  Manuel Antonio near Quepos, Corcovado in the Southern Zone, both of which are on beautiful beaches.

San Jose has museums and such, but being a big chity it is dangerous at night.

Taxis are cheap for short runs too.

    Congrats on your upcoming marriage.

  3. Have your Honeymoon in Hotel Diria on Tamarindo Beach in the North West of Costa Rica on the Pacifit coast.  Hotel Diria is a very fine First Class Hotel all the way with three huge outside Pools with drinking Cabanas right in the pool and the Hotel rates run about $50.00 per night. Its Right on the Beach as well as the Main Road in Tamarindo Beach!

Go to Hotel Diria.com and check it out!  Lots of Tourist attractions, etc and a perfect place for an unforgettable Honeymoon!

Been there several times and love to go back!

Don't worry about weather - its beautiful all year around!  And don't worry about transportation either.  You can travel by Bus, Air (Sansa Air), or rent a car, or Hire a Guide with a Van very reasonably!

  4. transportation... rent a car. places... montezuma (YlangYlang Beach Resort), arenal volcano (at the arenal lodge at la fortuna), poas volcano, la paz waterfall garden, nice quite drake bay
