Costume Help!!!!?

Yeah, I'm getting started early on my Halloween costume, only because I'm weird, and I love Halloween.

Anyway, I have these patent leather boots, but I need to make them a different color. Since I only use these for costumes, I'd rather not spend another $50 on new boots. So... Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can change the color of my boots without ruining them?

One idea is to paint them, but that would probably ruin them. You also could tape or somehow attach felt or some other fabric to them. Hope this helps!

Make shoe covers. You can make them in a bunch of different colors.
