Costume Tips! Please answer.?

Question

I need a tip or any ideas for a tree costume. It should be affordable, has a low price or cheap, and can be bought or got anywhere (or I need a resourceful idea). I need this for our play. It's a scenery of a forest... so I also need a big tree... a round one made up of a carton or box. Thanks in advance...

make one of those boards that you wear over your body. like when ppl try to sell or advertise on the street. idk what they are called. but they are on the front and back. get 2 big pieces of cardboard and cut a tree shape (like a pine tree or xmas tree) and paint them green. attach them with string so you can place it over your body. wear brown pants and shoes as the trunk of the tree. this will be practical, economical, and creative. idk how you can get a round one b/c where could you get a cardboard tube large enough for a human to fit into?

For your tree.. Try paper mache.. Grab a long pole like object and paper mache it with glue and news paper let it harden and then let it dry and paint it. You can make it as thin or thick as you want. My idea for your "pole like object" is to grab like 4 wrapping paper roles and tape them together to give you thickness then tap them longways on top of eachother to make it long.  Then I would just take different colored green pieces of construction paper and cut ut leaves. The staple them up on the ceiling coming down the tree.  For the costume.. hmm.. I would get Brown dress pants maybe then a green shirt that is kinda sheer and wear a brown tank top underneath. Then get sheer fabric and lay it over the brown tank so that it looks a little tore and soft. then get elastic bands and put them around your arms and take strips or different color green sheer fabrics (like your shirt) and string them thru the elestic so they creat long flowy sleves. Then put some in your hair and do your make up like a fairy kinda glossy and sparkly using green..i think it would look great.
