Cotto vs mayweather or shane vs mayweather?

i really dont actually know who would give mayweather a run for his money, i mean cotto is young and has improved in his boxing style(as showin in the gomez fight), and i think cotto has the tools for beating mayweather, on the other hand mosely is old but has power and can out speed mayweather, so i really dont know who has a better chance of beating mayweather , whats your input?

In your question, you made a good point. He showed boxing skills against Gomez. You have to be real, it's one thing showing boxing skills and another against a real fighter. Gomez is a pretender and guy's are ready to make the claim like he beat somebody. Cotto used his jab agasint Mosley. Mosley dont have defense, Winky and Forrest boxed Mosley. Just a jab doesn't make you a boxer. Bruseles trained with Cotto and under the same trainer. Cotto camp sent Bruseles to fight PBF to see if Cotto had a chance. I guess that plan didn't work. Mayweather dont need people to call other fighter for him. It's a shame Cotto has to have his promoter to do the talking for him. The same guy that compare PBF to Ali. Cotto is not calling out PBF, it must not be that sweet. Why do people think Mosley is faster than PBF? Where have that been proven? Mosley only have one big name on his resume and that is Oscar. Vargas, "Please", everyone kicked his but. Mosley let Cotto out box him and just think what PBF will do to him. Oscar is a pure boxer and Cotto is not. Yeh, he do what Oscar couldn't do. Hatton has more Ko's than Cotto but Cotto is stronger. Yeh, Cotto ko record dont prove that. PBF will do what Mosley fell to do. I wonder were are Cotto fans getting these ideals at. I guess they are trying to make Cotto something he's not.

i could see cotto vs mayweather before that BUT with de la hoyas win a dlh vs mayweather is already pretty much in the future so the cotto mayweather may have to be put off for a while

I think Cotto is the best fight because if he fights Mosley, We will say Mosley wasnt in his prime and Cotto is Known for his hard hitting body punches But like you said he showed much improved speed for Gomez and it appeared he' been working on his defenive skills and he also showed his boxing skills when he fought Mosley so with that and the already evident slugger that he his i think that makes him the best suited fight.

If mosley was 5 years younger then i would go for him,

But hes not,

Cotto is the one who deserves the fight with mayweather he already beat mosley,

and cotto showed in his gomez fight that he can do more then just come straight in like a bull, hes able to pick his spots and box,

But truthfully i would pay to see either one mosley or cotto vs mayweather, Instead of mayweather doing stupid rematches

and fighting actual competition

Mayweather would destroy Cotto just like he did to Hatton. A 5 year younger Shane Mosley would give Floyd a run for his money, he still can, but i dont see him beating Mr. P4P

Cotto would do what Hatton nor DLH could do. And what is that ? Stick the jab. In all of Cotto's fights the one thing that has been consistent is his jab. He has never abandoned it and he hits harder than little ricky and DLH. People tend to forget that Cotto is a natural South paw who fights orthodox. Why do you see every fighter, since he started, seemingly has a battered right side of the face ? He's been knockdown and stung, but each time he has come back. And to say he's another Ricky Hatton is borderline insanity, Sheik. Have you even seen Cotto fight ? Their styles couldn't be more different! Cotto is efficient with his punches and he doesn't try to maul his opponents. He can also box like he did against Shane when he couldn't get the TKO. Oh, did I mention he has a jab. Something that Ricky didn't use effectively against Floyd. With all that said, not only do I think he can beat Floyd, but he's the only one who can TKO him.

Cotto without doubt. In the entire career of Fraud Mayweather, he run from the really good boxers, he choose boxers with low risk. He runs from Margarito 2 years ago and took a fight against Hatton (all his fight in 147 were really bad). I don't know how the people who know about boxing put him in the first place in the pound-per-pound category. Inclusive Manny Pacciao is better than Fraud Mayweather in the best pound per pound category. Mayweather is fast, but when he is under pressure he closes his mind and that whats Cotto will do. Fraud Mayweather say, he's the best pound per pound, is easy to prove it.........fight Cotto.

Mosely matches up much better against Floyd than does Cotto.  It's all a matter of speed, Cotto would get machine gunned whereas Mosely has a chance to keep up.
