Hi guys. Im warning you, this may be a little long, but I am going to try and explain; and give you all the facts so that I can get the best answers possible.

1) I went to a family wedding over the weekend, and i had a little too much to drink. The next day I had, what I thought was a classic hangover. I vomited, and slept throughout the day. However, I ended up sleeping on and off for a whole 24 hours as I had ear ache, and my glands in my throat were swollen. As a person who rarely suffers from extreme hangovers, this is unusual for me.

2) The wedding was four days ago, and I still feel exhausted. I sleep alot, and I think that it may be partly to do with the fact that I have had some personal probems as of late, and woud rather sleep than deal with them.

3) I have stomach cramps. I am due on my period. But they dont feel "normal". Obviously I know my own body, and I have never experienced stomach cramps that are quite as intense as these.

4) I keep feeling like i need to wee, all the time - but when I get to the toilet, I dont go. And if I do; its only a little bit. I am a very clean person, - when concerning my body. so if it is some kind of infection, then poor hygeine isnt the cause. I am sexually active with my partner, but we always use protection, so I dont think its anything to do with that.

5) Loss of appetite. I havnt been eating full meals. I just cant stomach it. at the moment, i eat little, and often.

This isnt like me at all.

Any advise on what could be wrong with me would be appreciated.

Thankyou

  1. it sounds to me like there may be a case of depression going on, to which alcohol does not help. I am a man so I cannot relate to the pms or cramps. the feeling that you need to pee and don't have anything to pee out is caused by anxiety, as well as the not eating and nausea. the swollen glands and ear ache are probably not related to the rest of the symptoms, but it sounds like you are starting down a road like I did with anxiety. if you have personal issues you need to try to work them out as it will only get worse as will your symptoms. I think it may be time for a trip to the doctor. its hard to say exactly though depending on the type and extent of your personal issues. good luck

  2. Nurse on duty now and take my advice and see your GP prob urine infection but sounds like something else going on as well

  3. It sounds like a urinary tract infection, unrelated to the drinking.  A urinary tract infection doesn't mean that you're a dirty person.  Some women are more prone to UTI's than others and you shouldn't feel bad about getting it, just go and see a doctor right away.  You're going to need antibiotics to get over it, and to keep it from spreading to your kidneys.

  4. alot of alchohol can irritate the bladder so you may have some sort of cystitis, dont worry its nothing bad everyone gets it now and again, you can get satchets of cranberry or lemon powers at your local pharmacy that you dissolve in water to help. drink cranberry juice and lots of it, it tastes nasty but it will do you good! It also sounds like your a bit down at the moment so sleeping more and eating less is a sign of that, ive suffered with bouts of depression myself, go and see your doctor and see what he recomends, you can get a supplement calles st johns wort that will help perk you up a bit, but i think you need to address your problems and remember things can only get better from here :) stay possitive and take time to pamper yourself and relax. hope i helped

  5. I would go to the doctor and have him check you out.  The liquor would be out of your system by now.

You probably have some type of infection.

  6. Hi, it sounds like you may have different things going on here. With regards to the swollen glands and throat, this is typical of a virus, which could also explain why you were tired and combined with the hang over will make you feel worse; as you know there are no cures of virus's, just have to ride it out and drink plenty of fluids. With regards to going to the toilet and feeling like you want to pee with nothing coming out, this does sound like it could be a UTI, which will need treatment with antibiotics from your GP. I am speculating here, so the best thing to do is go to your GP, and explain your story again, a UTI can quickly be determined and treatment can be undertaken asap if it is indeed an infection. In the meantime drink plenty of fluids.

  7. It definitely sounds as if there is an infection present. It maybe a kidney infection from what you are describing. It is time to see the doctor.  You do not want to delay once you have trouble voiding, your kidney are precious. Normally I would say a urinary tract infection but your other symptoms make it sound like it has moved onto your kidneys. Doctor  ASAP !
