Question:

Cough Syrup Stain On Bathroom Sink Counter - How Do I Clean?

by  |  earlier

We have a cough syrup stain on our bathroom sink counter. It is Robatussin. I've tried cleaning it and have gotten it to a link pink color, but the stain is still there.

Any suggestions on how I can get the stain out. I'm willing to try professional cleaning products if necessary.

Thanks in advance.

  1. BarKeepers Friend (cleaning aisle by the comet in a gold canister). Wet the area, sprinkle liberally, allow to sit 5 minutes then come back with a toothbrush or nail brush and scrub that stain away. I have used this stuff on formica, stainless, chrome, tiles, porcelain and even copper with wonderful, non harmful results. It has worked on many stains that bleach wouldn't touch.

  2. try hairspray.  We used it at work to get ink stains off those countertops......

  3. The only thing that you might try to get the cough syrup out

of the sink counter is to use bleach.

  4. I would try a paper towel soaked in bleach and laying it on the stain. Let it sit for 5 minutes, check it , let it sit., etc. and see if it will come out.

  5. How you clean it depends on the surface material of your counter. Go to a home improvement store like Home Depot and ask a clerk.
