Cough that last for 3 weeks? is this ok?

ok.. I had a cold like about 4 weeks ago and Im still coughing like crazy plus im experincing nausea. i know I should go to the Doc. but i dont have any insurance nor money right now :( but can this be serious? or do you think it will eventually go away?

and im not pregnant.

It could be whooping cough (pertussis).  In adults it's often a very persistent cough ... and "cough till you vomit" is a very strong symptom. Also, "paroxysmal coughing", or sudden fits of violent coughing and you feel fine between the coughing sessions is characteristic.

You could be spreading whooping cough to every baby you walk past!

Call your local public helth department ... they will check it and make sure you get treated.

You more than like have developed a respitory infection - quite common with colds and flu .... or possibly you are an asthmatic and the cold has aggravated your condition ..... if you can;t get to the doctor then you need to try to help yourself... try a good cough medicine, something that contains ipecacua.... and also try some steam therapy with a menthol additive (you place your face over the bowl with a towel over your head and breathe in the vapours) ....and perhaps rub a menthol treatment on your chest and back..... these things may help .....

Coughs can hang on for quite a while after a cold.  As long as you're not coughing up any phlegm you're fine.  It will go away.
