  1. Jecko-  Most important is for the doctor to talk to you first and get a good history from you of any seasonal or other allergies, changes in  where you live, recent illnesses in you or close family or friends, and type of work place exposure to any chemicals or dust.  Then a physical exam of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lymph glands of the neck, listening to your chest and breathing sounds through a stethoscope, tapping on your outside chest with finger, and finally possibly a chest x-ray.  Some simple blood tests may also be ordered.  Then your Dr will have a good idea of the cause of your coughing and be able to decide on the best treatment.  Meanwhile try sucking on throat lozenges or drinking soothing drinks like very warm tea with some honey or sucking on throat lozenges.

  2. Here are a few simple home remedies that will help to overcome cough. Have honey in a hot drink before bed time.Use a infusion of ginger thrice a day.  Suck a whole clove without chewing it to soothe a cough. Apples bring a great relief to a person with dry cough. To relieve fits of coughing due to dryness in the throat, suck a few pepper corns. Check out http://useinfo6.blogspot.com/ for more remedies and information.
