Is it possible for Penn to move up some in weight to fight Silva and for Silva to move down? They are amazing fighters.

  1. I think penn has a shot at winning, he is my fav. fighter right now, but silva is a beast, both have good stand up but I give a slight edge to silva and both have good ground games but I penn has the advantage there, neither guy has been knocked out but penn hasn't fought a guy quite like silva cause who's like him? anyway I'd take silva by ko or penn if it goes to the score cards.

  2. Nobody can beat Silva.

Not to take anything away from BJ but the Spider is the best in the business bar none.

  3. penn would lose quickly

  4. First, to dude up there, Lutter only did as good as he did because Anderson was coming off double knee surgeries.  I think a lot of times UFC's commentating and things of that nature stay away from talking about injuries as much that way if the injured fighter loses the winner is not discredited.  Many times this has happened.  It's no biggie though.

Anderson has fought around 175 before but it was a long time ago.  BJ has fought guys as heavy as Lyoto Machida but it was a long time ago too.  I suggest watching the fights Penn has had at 185 (Rodrigo Gracie, Renzo Gracie, etc) and noticing how he has to come in at a shape not fit for that weight class.  BJ is one of the absolute most talented fighters to ever walk the Earth, but Anderson should have this.

  5. Anderson Silva isn't unstoppable.  Travis Lutter almost had him.

I like Penn as a lightweight.  I would prefer to see Penn fight Urijah Faber or Miguel Torres.  I would prefer to see Anderson Silva fight Fedor or Chuck Liddell.  I know we are talking different guys in different leagues.  How about seeing Tito Ortiz getting destroyed by Anderson Silva.  That would be the one I want to see most.

  6. I don't believe The Spider can cut anymore weight.  He's already a big Middleweight.  However, Penn might be able to go up to Middleweight by not cutting any weight.  I believe he walks around at 180 or so pounds.

If those two were to fight, I wouldn't know who would win.  It'll be a very very very good fight.  I'll give the edge to Anderson Silva, but BJ can pull out a lot of things from his bag of tricks.  I don't believe we've seen the best out of either of these fighters, but this fight might bring out the best in both of them.

  7. Penn fought Machida in K-1 and it looked like one long sequence of a angry big brother beating his bald, tubby younger brother. I have no doubt that a Silva fight would turn out similarly, only with even more brutality.

  8. silva walks around at 215...he would have to cut down to 170lbs. and penn would have to go up to 170lbs. which he has done before...but i believe that could be the only meeting point for the two and even still, silva would have to cut 45lbs. The ufc could however, have a catch weight where the two could agree to meet. But BJ probably wouldn't, because anderson would be so much bigger and stronger than him...i don't think it will ever happen.

  9. Takedown, submission.

You can imagine who is executing the above.

EDIT: Miguelito Torres and the vastly over*rated Faber are not lightweights, so how they possibly come into the UFC® as lightweights? Try to construct sensible statements people.

  10. BJ is a ******* monster...at 155 and 170...But if he goes up to middle weight he would look overly pudgy and tha most likely out come of him fighting andersone is a TKO...Sorry Penn fans but No one is going to beat anderson anytime soon...

  11. Silva would win. Silva is more explosive and unorthodox than BJ add to the fact that he has great submission skills. BJ is good in having solid standup and wrestling, but can't match up with Silva. This is the case that both guys match their weight. If this is an open-weight fight, Silva would also has the weight advantage.

Oh yes, would be fun to see Faber and Torres come into the UFC lightweight division.

  12. Silva wins realatively easily as he is just too strong even at 170 for BJ to compete with. Both are great fighters but even if BJ was a natural 185, I would pick Silva via strikes as he is too skilled for BJ to dominate on the ground and has a decisive striking advantage. BJ might keep the fight close and even win a few early rounds by taking Silva down and controlling him, but Silva's flexibilty makes him almost impossible to finish on the ground and he would eventually get the KO or TKO standing in round 3 or 4. Silva is the best pound for pound fighter in the world, but even if he was at 155 and BJ was at 185, I would pick the bigger man, becuase they are both so skilled. Prediction Silva TKO via strikes at 4:00 of the third round
