I'm back and better than ever folks. If you know me then you'll know this is a good thing, if not, then im not really surprised. im not all that popular on here.

anyhow, im a huge fan of Colt Brennan, as you might guess. I saw his numbers from yesterday's game and smiled. 9-10, 121 yards, and 2 TD's. for a preseason game that isnt too shabby.

The question is: do you think Colt Brennan can beat out Todd Collins for the second string spot, why or why not?

  1. hes not that good

he did good against colts back ups and 3 stringers

  2. i hope so he looked much more comfortable the collins did, but still he did not look very comfortable.

right now it looks great for Campbell he looked really comfortable, hes getting the ball out of his hands fast, im really exited about this season

  3. its only a scrimmage, he was good but im not sure what he would be like in a real game.  Im still skeptical of him after his perfomance in the bowl game.

  4. I just asked a similar question, and, I think we need to see more proof.  it was a great start, but remember, Rex Grossman had excellent numbers and was named the player of the month in september of last year, look what happened since.

I would like to see Brennan as the starter, I would watch more of their games if he was.

  5. The reason is that it's the Hall of Fame game. Starters aren't playing. It's a glorified scrub scrimmage. He's playing so some other QB won't get hurt. No way he beats out Collins.

  6. In my book he did last night.  We'll see what happens in the other pre-season games.

  7. he should beat out todd collins...cause he is young..y not have a guy there who will be there for years to come?!

  8. Colt Brennan should be the starter for the Redskins.  He is a much better QB than Campbell or Collins.

  9. I was very impressed by him yesterday. I was also excited we drafted him. I think he can be a starter one day in this league. To answer ur question yes i think he can beat him out

  10. he should be the starter hs rocks

  11. Yes its very possible.

I was very impressed with him in yesterdays game. Hes got good numbers. He's got a lot of potential to be a great QB.

  12. I seriously doubt it. Todd looked great last year down the stretch. Colt will more than likely get the #3 QB. I think he will be riding the pine for at least a couple of years until they can further develop him.

  13. Brennan is good but he'll need some time to refine his skills so that he can be consistent at the pro level. I think Collins will maintain the #2 spot this year because he is a proven veteran with a great arm and has showed his ability to lead a team (last year's playoff bid in Campbell's absence). However, I don't think Collins is a lock, and if he struggles this preseason and Brennan does not then I see Brennan becoming a solid rookie backup.

  14. Colt Brennan is a project QB, similar to some one like Adrian Mcpherson down in New Orleans. I think that he has a chance of being a solid contributor in this league but it will be awhile before he will get a shot. Todd Collins won't be able to hold a young popular guy for forever.

  15. i hope he dont

  16. yes, he will beat out Todd.  Colt is just a better passer.  Give him the right receivers, and he will dominate the field.

  17. I don't think he can beat Collins out.  Collins is a proven backup QB and has experience.   Brennan had very good numbers and looked good, but you have to remember he was playing against 3rd string guys on the Colts D.   I don't see anything wrong w/ Brennan sitting for a year and competing for the backup job next year.

  18. No and here's why:

He still needs lots of work.  He did really well last night in his debut, but the NFL is a whole different game from college ball. Besides, he's got time to learn and from what he showed last night, he's gonna be a quick learner.

Collins is an experienced veteran.  Look at what he did for the team last winter.  Not a lot of guys could've put together a streak like that to get their team to the playoffs.  He did.  I don't know how long the team will be able to hold onto him, but I think he can teach the younger QB's how to play with poise and determination to get the job done.

Remember, this is preseason, and Coach Zorn has already put Campbell as the starter and Collins as the 2nd string QB.  Brennan is trying for the 3rd string, and that is as it should be.  Given time, I think he'll be a tremendous asset, but right now he's still a rookie.

  19. isnt it ironic that COLT brennan's 1st victory was over the indianapolis COLTS... anyways.. i'd give it a year or two its just one game and collins proved he can be a starter at this league but in 1 or 2 years i wouldn't be surprised to see him s a 2nd string or starter QB somewhere
