  1. It is highly unlikely, but not impossible that Ford will bankrupt this year or next.   They are reducing personnel for exactly that reason -- to improve their profitability.   It is more likely that GM will go bankrupt than Ford, and even GM is unlikely to in the next year.

Still, I would not either (a) invest in them or (b) take a job with them at this point.  They have to prove that they understand their mistakes of the past and are doing something (other than layoffs and buyouts) to be a better company.

  2. with the way our economy is today, anybody could go down the tubes. Gas goes up, people quit driving , buying , boating, etc. These gas prices are affecting the economy so adversely,--- and I don't really seem to remember it being even a topic of interest on the presidential campaign. Around here one of the biggest housing developers just filed for  bankruptcy. That in turn, affected so many other people and businesses.  To answer your question--- we are all in trouble with what we have for ploitical government right now. TYhey only make themselves rich.

  3. It is ironic that Ford is unprofitable here, but flourishing overseas like GM. Here, the unions continue to siphon money from Ford with strikes and unreasonable demands Ford has to accept.

  4. It's possible, but you never know...
