  1. No, couldn't be female.  It's a male spirit because the Bible refers to God as He, Himself,  Him or His.

  2. In the Bible, God is defined as male.

However, in the Gnostic texts of the Dead Sea scrolls, God had a mother named Sophia. So She would be the real God, wouldn't She?

And this is not just another chicken/egg conundrum for the Gnostics. When Jehovah decides to create the universe, His mother tells Him it's not a good idea and will turn out badly. She obviously wasn't one of these new age empowerment parents.

When little Jehovah makes a wife for Adam, her name is Lilith and she is modeled after Sophia, which means she is very controlling and bossy. So Adam divorces Lilith and Jehovah makes Eve, a more complacent woman, but sneaky, it turns out.

I'm not making this up. People made it up nearly 2000 years ago.

  3. God is not a human, therefor is not bound by male or female.

  4. God is a psychopathic homicidal maniac.  Read your bible.

  5. The thought of a female God that has allowed for so much misogyny over the last few thousand years is kind of a hoot!

  6. Well im a christian I go by what the Holy Bible says and God is a male, so no God could not be a female in my eyes, but other people believe what they believe.

  7. I believe people call God male mostly because he behaves like a male and perhaps males are viewed superficially as superior.  Of course he isn't literally male.  If he is it's probably a noisy place in heaven.

  8. From the word of GOD when anyone seen GOD, they see a bright light. It is not important if he male or female. He is GOD and the creator of male and female. So unless he reate him self as a male or female, he is neither. He is just GOD. How can he be male or female? He created male and female. Is don;t matter, he is a spirit and a WONDERFUL GOD.

  9. I think God is neither. He'd be biased if he was one or the other.

  10. I was involved in quite a few different religions before I gave up the whole thing and decided I was an atheist.  The last one (lasting some 25 years) was as a Goddess-worshipping witch.

Let me tell you, ladies, there is nothing like a male Goddess-worshipper in the bedroom!!!

  11. The serpent, who dies and is resurrected, shedding its

skin and renewing its life, is the lord of the central tree, where time and

    eternity come together. He is the primary god, actually, in the Garden of Eden. Yahweh, the one who walks there in the cool of the evening, is just a visitor. The Garden is the serpent's place. It is an old, old story. We have Sumerian seals from as early as 3500 B.C. showing the serpent and the tree and the goddess, with the goddess giving the fruit of life to a visiting male. The old mythology of the goddess is right there. {Joseph Campbell}

  12. What possible use could God have for a p***s or a v****a?

  13. Neither male or female.

I heard someone who both believed in God and studied language and the Bible say that the "he" was used just because it was more respectful than "it". That and the fact women were practically useless to them back then, being a patriarchal society.

No, I'm not going to go all feminist on your a*s, don't worry :P

  14. God is everything

  15. Just because the BIBLE says God is male, doesn't really make it so since it was Compiled, Written, and Edited by men during a time (200 years after Christ died) when the polytheistic religions (where females were considered by those religions as sacred) were being targeted by men who wanted women to be subservient to them. I would say I would go with the pagans and wiccans on this one Goddess with a male consort, or many Deities both male and female.

  16.   The God can not be either male or Female as He is not in any way comparable with his creations.

  17. God is not a s*x

God was called the father because Jesus was born into a human body a male. Male because he had to descend from the line of king david which is only done through the male line in humans.

For Jesus to be related to God he used the name the father a male determination.

  18. I'm Pagan, and my Patron Deity is a Goddess.  Polytheists generally recognize both.  It is only monotheist religions founded by men who claim that the deity must be male.  Islam teaches that God is beyond our imagining or comprehension, which suggests a deity that is neither.

  19. There is no reason why God can't be female.

  20. Genesis 1:27

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

He is called Heavenly Father, but God is also described as a mother bear.

    Hosea 13:8

    I will meet them like a bear deprived of her cubs;

I will tear open their rib cage,

And there I will devour them like a lion.

God has no gender, "he" is more of a generic form, like calling your car "she."

  21. If god existed it would be neither male nor female since it would not be a biological organism.

  22. male.  because the bible is like that.

  23. God is neither male or female.

  24. i think god isn't a woman or man i think he is just god

  25. Imaginary things can be whatever you want them to be.

  26. niether of the two,HE is great and pure.

HE made sexes while creating life.

  27. why the h**l would you think the god would be male or female

  28. If God existed, I don't think such a being could be assigned a gender. Separate genders exist in the world among all mammals for the purpose of reproduction ... so I don't know why God would be in need of a p***s or v****a.

I think God would encompass everything good and beautiful about both sexes.

  29. No, God is not either male or female, but God has both masculine and feminine traits.

  30. God is consciousness without adjuntcs,so genderless.

  31. With modern surgery, anything is possible.  The real question is will the fundies stick with a trans-gender God?
