Today a customer was extremely rude to me yelling and belittling me so finally I said "suck eskimo c**k on Neptune you ****** scum!" and I threwhim out of the office. Now i am worried that my boss might be mad when he views the tape because this customer likely wont come back (good riddance!) but the boss wanted his business. So im asking will my boss fire me for this and if you were my boss what would u do?

  1. theres really no telling what he'll do. if i was your boss id be on your side, nobody should come in a store of w/e it was and start yelling at the employees.

  2. yes you can get fired no matter what you have to agree with the customer

  3. Quite possibly.  Perhaps would be have better to just simply ask him to leave and stop talking to him - in that case you would most likely be in the right to do so.  This one really depends on your boss' personality and the type of business that you're in.

  4. It really depends - are you on good terms with your boss and the company you work for? If so, I think what might happen is that he'll probably sit you down and ask for your side of the story (I have a feeling the guy you talked to more than likely called in a complaint about you). He might give you a warning if it's your first time ever doing something like this. However, if you've done something before that you've received some sort of disciplinary action over, then it's a tough call.

If I was your boss, I would probably have a talk to you (as long as you haven't done something like this before), maybe even let you know that clients have bad days and unfortunately, they don't realize the kind of attitude they're having with you... but try to put up with it the best you can. Stay positive and focused.

If you catch me on a bad day, I'd probably say something sarcastic like 'Oh, he's just made because his wife isn't giving him any' lol.

  5. um, yeah, there is a pretty good chance that you will get fired for this, but you were standing up for yourself, but maybe it could've been handled better, such as, "Ma'am (or sir), would you like to speak to our manager?" or something like that. But I can't really judge it because I wasn't there but it sounded a little harsh.

  6. I would award you with the purple heart lol thats classic props to you.

  7. Yes Most Probably But I See He Provoked You?

  8. Bravo! Even if you do get fired, I would storm out of the building very proudly!

  9. Unlikely...I'm calling shenanigans.

  10. Hi,

If I were your boss, I wouldn't look at that specific customer from a potential point of view as he's long gone after what happened.

If he come back asking for an apology I would insist that he be apologized to due to the attack that has been afflicted on him within the work environment.

The above has nothing to do with the following:

I want to make everyone at work know that customers are not there at the home of the employee, they're at an office that's owned by the business, you can't deal with them on a personal level unless they misbehave in which case you should escalate so it would be the responsibility of the business to protect its employees from abusing clients.

If the employee takes matters into their own hand and they take out their aggravation directly onto the client with a personal judgment call, that's not fare as they're dragging the business into the results of their actions without the business having a say, but baring more liability from the incident than the employee will carry since it was a place of business and the employee is the business's responsibility.

I would review how the client interacted with the employee to gauge the the severity of the reaction I would have for the employee. The less the client had caused, the more likely the employee will be fired at least to keep the others aware that they can't take out their frustrations from clients out on them on a personal level as well as to protect the business from hot tempered employees hijacking the place of work as if they were out in an alley in a street fight.

These matters are not left an regulated, there are policies and laws to protect employees, clients and businesses.. all three have rights and have responsibilities.. The wild wild west days are in movies and not that many that remember them are still alive.
