I have recently stopped taking the contraceptive pill. The last one I took was 18th June. I then had a normal period and had unprotected intercourse on 27th June. Since 7th July I have had pains which are very similar to the period pains I usually get on the first or second day of my period. It is now the 7th day of having these pains. I have also had an on and off ache in my lower back and have been quite emotional. My period isn't due till 19th July but I took an early pregnancy test this morning which claims to test 10miU/ml hCG. However, it came out negative. I just wondered if anything similar had happened to anyone else or if anyone has any advice? Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can get a blood hcG test, or do the doctors not do these as a rule?

  2. Dr's would not do this as a rule, they would tell you to wait.

  3. I dont think u will be pregnant to be honest. It is unlikely that it would happen so quickly. It takes a while for your body to get used to things when u come off the pill, and sometimes it can even take months to get pregnant even if u have s*x three times a day lol.

You must want to get pregnant if u came off the pill do you?

  4. It is very unlikely that you are pregnant. The pill is a hormonal form of birth control, and this is your first cycle since you stopped taking extra hormones. You will likely have several unusual cycles before everything evens out - including increased cramping, very light or heavy bleeding, and an unpredictable cycle.

Regarding the emotional issues .. sounds like you are already a little stressed, and add some back pain to that, and it is common to be irritable and emotional.

    Good Luck

  5. wait untill your period is due and test again
