Question:

Could I be pregnant?!? Thought I miscarried.?

I had what I believed to be a chemical pregnancy last week. Faint lines on pregnancy tests. Then I started having bleeding that lasted for a number of days and seemed comparable to a period. I had an HCG and progesterone drawn- 40 and 2.2 respectively. I was sure that I miscarried b/c of such a low progesterone. But my b*****s are rather sore and the bleeding has been done for about 3 days. I don't want to get my hopes up, but my b*****s are never sore during my regular cycles. What do you think?

  1. It is possible that you could still be pregnant as some women do continue to have what appears to be normal periods for the first few months. I don't want to get your hopes up too much so you are better off testing again or going to the doctor. Good Luck.

  2. You need to get a repeat of your HCG levels, if the continue to rise your are still pregnant. Get that tested and go from there, good luck!

  3. You should get a repeat test done.  If your HCG is rising, chances are you are still pregnant.

Some brands of pregnancy tests are notorious for giving faint lines, and a lot of those tests only start to pick up at 40 miU/mL so if you took them before your blood test, and your levels were only 40 at the time of the blood test, then that is why your test results were so faint.

It IS possible-not definite, of course, but possible.

Some women also experience bleeding during early pregnancy, as well, for a variety of reasons.

    Definitely get checked out!

    I hope you are pregnant!

  4. Unfortunately after you miscarry, or even have a baby, the pregnancy hormone will still be in your system for awhile, and it could make you feel pregnant.  But, it could always be a possibility.

  5. It could be possible to be pregnant and still have a period.  I'm sorry, I can't really say for sure or not, just test again.  GL!
