Could I do a ROTC program and still do a competitive sport? What would happen if the schedules clashed?

  1. Only if you were doing intramural or club.  You could not play a Varsity sport at a University level and still be ROTC.  The schedules would conflict, particularly during the season of the sport you are competing in.


  2. Yes, you can do both.

    There are no prohibitions against cadets participating in Varsity sports on campus; as a matter of fact, all programs encourage thier cadets to participate in campus and varsity athletics (you gotta be in shape to do well in the Army).

    Scheduling conflicts are easily managed with prior coordination. My program allowed me to compete (soccer) and make up my missed work, as did the remainder of my professors.  

  3. you would have to make up your ROTC drills/classes and commitments  somehow.
