I was thinking of visiting my Aunt in Germany, and my parents said they didn't want to go so I asked if I could fly by myself, and they really didn't know.

  1. Yes. My boyfriend flew to Germany when he was 12 too.

  2. Yes, but you would probably have to be escorted by a flight attendant. Have them speak to the airline or the travel agency.

  3. Your parents have to book directly with the airline. You can't do this online. They have to let them know, that you're a minor traveling by yourself. I don't know how much it would cost extra for an escort to go to Germany, but when I asked for my kids for traveling in the US, it wasn't that expensive. I think it was like $ 75 for one way. Your parents will be able to take you directly to the gate at your departure airport.

  4. That depends. Do you think you can manage to fly a 747 all by yourself? It's such a big plane and a very long distance.

  5. yes. Your parents would have to talk with the airline company and ask them to take care of you till you get to your destination. If the flight is multi-segmented, the company will arrange other flight attendants to look after you until your destination is reached. But also be careful because some people may kidnapped you. so always becareful and tell your aunt to wait for you too. Hope you have fun!

  6. Maybe. Get a passport.

  7. yes, my little Niece goes every year 2X to Germany alone , she ist 12..  Miami to Frankfurt non-stop...its the safest place to go for a minor...'cause you can not get lost on a plane..you just got to fill out paperwork on the party in Germany...(name, address, phone number) she gotta have her own Passport...

  8. Of course you can! Your parents just have to contact the airline you want to fly with for making the arrangements. The following link will give you some information from a german airline, but american airlines should offer a similar service:

  9. Yes, your parents can make arrangements with the airline for you to be escorted by cabin crew as soon as you get to the airport, and you can be met the other end. This may cost money, but I don't know how much.

  10. Yes of course you can. You would be what is known as an 'unaccompanied minor', airlines deal with these everyday.

  11. i think so
