  1. yeah....wear a nice shirt and you should be fine...converse are very casual shoes...i wear them to work sometimes...

  2. its the fad nowadays. as long as you get a good suit to go with it. you'll look stunning dear.

  3. The problem with wearing what you want is that if everyone else turns up looking smart and you have on jeans and trainers you won't feel individual, you'll feel underdressed and if everyone else has 'made the effort' and it looks like you have'nt then people will notice it and you won't feel comfortable.

Its a work dinner for one evening, and they have specified a dress code. You can be as individual as you like with your friends and outside of work but be respectful of the request that has been made of you for that one evening - it will show great maturity.

  4. I think it's okay to wear your Converse. They are classic. Many people of all ages know that they have been a fashion staple. They would look good with loose Khaki's or jeans.

  5. work dinner = no running shoes period.

No offense, but bosses and co-workers don't care about your individuality.  If you look like a s****. little punk during a business function in a public place then it reflects poorly on the company.

  6. i am currently wearing my white converse at work . . . .im an accounting technician!!

If you want to wear them then do it!! :)

  7. Teenager showing their 'individuality' amongst grown ups is nothing new, but you will stand out like a sore thumb and look like you don't know how to dress for semi-formal occasions.

For a meal at a hotel you should definitely gor for soemthing a little more formal.

Smart/casual is just that, not a suit but not scruffy either.

Casual would be when you get to wear your Converse, I like them, don't get me wrong, but I don't think they are appropriate.

  8. yes. you should totally rock the shoes with confidence.

  9. I don't think that would look good. You might think you're being 'individual', but everyone else would just see you as lazy and sloppy. However, I know what you mean about jeans and 'smart' shoes looking rubbish, but chunky boots look great with jeans and are also acceptable as being smart and can be very fashionable, e.g. classic Doc Martens Cherry Reds http://www.iselldiscountdrmartenshoes.co...

  10. Yeah that would be ok. Just don't wear jeans with it, it will look to laid-back for a dinner. Maybe some nicer pants and a polo.

  11. If it's smart casual it would probably be ok, since you're wearing jeans. How clean are they? I wouldn't wear them if they're dirty and falling apart.

  12. Recently guys have been wearing trainers/converse with suits! So I think you could get away with this too, maybe you could wear them with smart black trousers and a cool going out top? Or you could do a sort of Lily Allen by wearing them with a dress?

  13. i guess so i mean it's not like people are going to look at your shoes to make sure they're appropiate or watev

  14. Yeah, that would be cool.

    Do it do it.
