Could I get caught with my pirated stuff on laptop and ipod when travelling from canada to USA?

I am really worrried, cause my friend just mentioned they mite check my ipod or laptop for copyrighted stuff, and I have some songs and other stuff that i got from friends and limewire, i do not know what I should do, i need my laptop on this trip, and i would really like to bring along my ipod for the trip? has this law even been implied yet? Is it safe to bring my laptop and ipod on? THIS IS URGENT!

  1. they really don't care what you have on your laptop or ipod, and no they don't check your music. Unless you are a known terrorist, then that's a whole different story. They would need a warrant to go throught computer files anyway

No no no.  they don't have time to look through everyones computers for stuff that they really don't care about.  If you have stacks of DVD's or cds they might give you static but even then the odds are slim.  Imagine if they went looking in someones computer.  In the first place they would have to have passwords.  then they would have to look through every file.  And if they deleted someting by accident they would get their a** sued off.  Its not going to happen.  

    PS your friend doesn't know what he is talking about or he is not your friend.

  3. I would shipped my staff UPS or Fedex overnight to the hotel save your self the embarrassment.
