  1. I think the answer is no because you were in a sport setting, however you may get sued for wrongful death, but most fight promoters have their fighters sign contracts to avoid that kind of thing, it happened in the 80's and that guy never went to jail, its a byproduct of the sport like breaking a leg in football the football player that broke your leg isn't charged with assualt

  2. YOUR ANSWER IS PLAIN ELEMENTARY. The answer is NO, it is accidental just like you said and besides boxing is considered to be a CONTACT SPORTS, so anybody is liable to get hurt or worst get killed.

  3. first of all.... you couldnt..... for you are not chuck norris..... good day!

  4. First I am going to assume this is a boxing match, either professional, or informally at a local gym, club, or martial arts training center.  Not a “Fight club” showground.  There is no undue advantage taken such as weapons, fighting someone WAY out of your class as a boxer, or size disadvantage.

I will speak for California laws only. I am sure that all the states and territories of the USA have similar laws tough.

412 PC is a rather long section, however it basically says all boxing in California will have such things as padded gloves, rounds of three min with a one min break between and so on….  In a nutshell, a organized athletic competition either informally such as practice/training/amateur, or professionally set up matches.

I think this answers your question though…

    195.  Homicide is excusable in the following cases:

       1. When committed by accident and misfortune, or in doing any other lawful act by lawful means, with usual and ordinary caution, and without any unlawful intent.

If you were following the laws and someone died, well it happens. People die in sporting events.

  5. No, because the other guy agreed to fight you and knew all the risks. But boxing is quite safe, though.

  6. Jail? Who knows it would be up to the D.A. to file charges.

I assume you are wondering if you could be charged with murder.

To prove you murdered the other boxer they would have to prove you knew you had the skill and the pre-meditated intent to kill the other boxer.

  7. That depends.  Was the match legal?  Sanctioned?  Etc...

Did the referee try to stop you and you continued?  Did you do anything illegal such as adding weights to your gloves, etc.

In a straight-up, sanctioned match with nothing suspicious, then no, you could not.

  8. probably not
