I'm 14 and an aspiring actress. I am very talented in acting, and dance, even though I've never taken classes, but I really want to take both classes, but I'm not that great in singing, people tell me I'm pretty good but I'm such a perfectionist and pretty good isn't good enough. Anyway I want to take acting classes, tap, jazz, ballet, and voice lessons on top of school and possibly cheerleading, and I'm in all honors classes in school...what should I do, i want to do it all, but idk if I should. Help?

  1. Yikes. I know what that's like. Last year I was in a play, took dance classes, all honors classes and piano lessons. I would say that you could probably do all the classes expcept cheerleading. it's usually right after school, which is when a lot of the classes might be and it would take up a lot of your time. Hope it works out!

  2. It will take ALOT of dedication and time management and a social life will be little to none. When I was in high school, I did 4 ballet classes, 3 pointe classes, rehearsals for the junior company, I had honors AND AP classes, and I was the secretary for one of the clubs at my school so I had to go to meetings and events. In addition I still volunteered at my church, but at least that was only on Sundays. So needless to say I kinda had a full plate, but I don't regret it. You can do it, but like I said, you'll have to be dedicated and make sure you manage your time well. You can multi-task like doing homework while you eat lunch/dinner/a snack, while your mom (or whoever) is driving you to your lessons. Or when you get home, take a good shower first so that you get it out the way and get at least 5 minutes to completely relax and clear your mind. I also love to make to-do lists and make use of my agenda/planner so that I don't miss or forget about anything.

It's an overwhelming idea, but when you get there you'll see that it's not impossible. Good luck little miss bundle of talent!

  3. omg i'm the same way! i applied for INDEPENDENT PE or IPE it's cool, see if your school has it. if it does, it's good because you get to miss PE and go home and hour early. but you have to do a certain amount of hours (i think 15) of your thing and you have to do a solo. it sounds like you do many hours at least. you also have to be nationally ranked and stuff... but just see what you need to have by asking someone that's in charge of it at your school. hope that helps =)

  4. i would take acting and ballet for sure.

and then either cheerleading singing or another dance class (i recommend another dance class but that's just me) so choose which one of those 3 means the most to u =)

  5. i know exactly what your talking about because i have interests in all the same things i'm a dancer and i take classes 4-6 hours a day sometimes a few more but this year will be even more busy because i want to take singing and guitar lessons on top of honors classes althletics and dance so i have the same problems but all that i have to say is see how it works out and then if you can't handle it all, all you can do is not do as much. Even though you think you can do it all sometimes thats not always how it works. Just remember that school is the most important thing!!!!!! Good Luck!!!! We'll be going through it together!!!! Lol!!
