  1. Even in the case of your mild psychological symptom complained an elament of diabetes is to be excluded in the first instance.

  2. There is an Oral Glucose tolerance Test that needs to be done to verify if you have diebaties or not. This test should be done at a certified clinic. Its a mild Blood test and not a very big deal. This will ensure if you have diebaties or not.

  3. You can get diabetes without it being inherited.  Is your mom around, can u talk to her?  It is just a simple blood test to find out..maybe u could ask your dad to let you go for a back to school check up and ask the doc to check you while you're there.

  4. If your parents or grandparents have diabetes you have a better chance of getting it.  The tendency is inherited, not the disease.

The symptoms you mention sound like diabetes, but they can be a lot of things.  If you go to a doctor and he suspects you have diabetes he will order a series of tests to test for these other things. (I won't mention them because then you'll think you have -them-, and some of them are worse than diabetes!)

If you know anyone who is diabetic, he or she will have a blood glucose meter and probably would be happy to test you.  If you have high blood sugar in the morning before eating, or two hours after eating, then you are likely diabetic.  If your blood sugar is normal then you're not.  In other words a one-time blood glucose test can rule out diabetes but not confirm it.  If your blood sugar is high, THEN go to your dad and ask him to send you to a doctor to get checked out.

It may or may not be inherited. Diabetes often goes undiagnosed because many of its symptoms seem so harmless. Recent studies indicate that the early detection of diabetes symptoms and treatment can decrease the chance of developing the complications of diabetes.

    Some diabetes symptoms include:

    Frequent urination

    Excessive thirst

    Extreme hunger

    Unusual weight loss

    Increased fatigue

    Irritability

    Blurry vision

If you have one or more of these diabetes symptoms, see your doctor right away.

  6. Don't discuss it with your dad anymore. See a Doctor immediately. Best to be safe than sorry. If it is not diabetes then your mind will be put at rest, if it is then it needs to be treated as diabetes can be a very serious illness. Good luck.
