I get nervous, stressed, and worried A LOT very easily and it really bothers me. Like today I have dance class again and I'm nervous. I haven't had dance class all sumer, but that's something I love doing! And I am super nervous about school. I feel soooo stupid for this! My mom is a nurse, so I am going to talk to her about it when she wakes up(she is sleeping now cuz she works night shift). But how do I tell her? I'm worried I will sound stupid and paranoid or something. Should I tell her I want to go to the doctor and see about it? Please help! I don't know what to do and I am really stressed! Sometimes I will stop being stressed, but it will just come back again! PLEASE HELP!

  1. This does sound like it could be an anxiety disorder.  It isn't stupid, and you mom should understand how you feel because she is a nurse.  Talk to her.  There are medications that can help you.

  2. I know exactly how you feel. I used to get so worked up before school that I would actually vomit. Sitting in a classroom waiting for my turn to give a presentation, the worst! I could look down and see my heart pounding in my chest. Yes, you too have an anxiety problem. I won't say it is a disorder because this is normal for a lot of people. This is who you are. I bet you've always been a little worry wart, haven't you? I finally had to get put on meds several years ago, it helped, but it is still my nature to worry and stress. I notice this stress problem amplifies during certain times of my cycle. Talk to your mother, I'm sure she will know exactly what to do to help you. Just tell her what you told us.

  3. Talking to your Mom is a very good idea. I'm sure she will be more than happy to listen and support you.

I have anxiety disorder and suffer from occasional panic attacks.

Some people just tend to get nervous about things more than others too.

It could be that you have some low self esteem issues and stress yourself out because of that.

Being nervous before going to a new class or starting school is very normal though. If you find yourself worrying about every little thing that might be different.

Try journaling your feelings/fears for awhile and then look back on it to see how much you really do worry. One forgets very easy. By journaling you can asses your behavior and take it from there.

Like I said, talking to your Mom is the first best step.

Good luck and hang in there, and remember that you loved dance class before and once you are in the class, you will love it again :-)
