Question:

Could I have gotten HIV from my sexual assault? PLEASE HELP!?

Nine months ago I was sexually assaulted when a man put his finger into my v****a and "fingered" me. I know he must have touched his p***s before because I have genital warts now.

I was tested for HIV three months after the assault and tested negative. Do I need to be tested again? How long after sexual contact does the person need to be tested to ensure they are truly negative?

Is it possible to transmit HIV this way?

PLEASE HELP ME! I am so worried.

  1. It is not possible to transmit HIV this way unless his finger had an open sore. I do hope you are ok though, and I am sorry to hear of your ordeal.

  2. I am so sorry to hear about that...but it is only passed through bodily fluids and how IG said.  But if it makes you more comfortable keep getting checked!  But I'm sure you will be fine.  Good luck and hope he rots in h**l!!

  3. It is VERY UNLIKELY that you contracted HIV in this manner.  His finger would have had to be bleeding or contaminated with fresh infected blood or s***n.

Generally, you need to be tested 6 months after possible exposure to be certain since it can take up to that amount of time for your body to produce HIV antibodies (which is what they test for -- not the virus itself).
