Question:

Could I have ovulated 3-4 days before my period came?

My husband and I had unprotected s*x on a Friday and Saturday, and I got my period on a Tuesday. I am on the pill. However, that was a few weeks ago, and I'm starting to have some of the symptoms I had when I got pregnant the first time. I know it's possible to ovulate at many different times (I do have irregular cycles when not on the pill), but would it be possible to get my period a few days after ovulating?

  1. from what I've reasearched, yes you could have ovulated a couple of days before getting your period if your cycles are not very regular, especially more so if you are on BCP.

Usually, Between ovulation and the next period there needs to be at least (i think) 10-14 days giving the egg a chance to concieve and then travel to and implant into the uterus.  if this length of time is shortened I belive it would be a Luteal Phase defect and a pregnancy could not happen.

If you are getting the symptoms I would take a test to be sure.

    Good Luck and babydust

  2. I really don't think its possible...though I will say

possible but not probable at all.  In general a woman ovulates 14 days after the first day of her last menstrual period.

Here is some information in regards to ovulation.  However if you are in doubt please get tested!

  3. Women ovulate at different times.  So what time one woman ovulates can be totally different for another! It just depends on your body!!  So in other words I think that it could be possible but I would keep track of my body temp and use ovulation kits!!! So that you can pinpoint when!! Good Luck and God Bless!!!!

  4. Its not possible

  5. It is possible to get your period shortly after you ovulate.  I personally have a friend who is TTC right now and she had to go on Clomid because she was ovulating 3 days before she got her period.

  6. Yes i ovulate usually one week or so before my period unlike most other women.  It is not a big possibility but you should make sure and ask.
