Could I possibly be DIV 1 male tennis player?

Im currently going to be a junior. Im from Texas and wish to go to college in Texas. Ive never played tennis competivly but, I have played with family and freinds. Im just wondering if its possible for someone to start this late to still be considerd for a spot on the team.Oh and my school dose not have a tennis team.

  1. It is possible, but highly unlikely.  Unless you join a decent tennis club or  tennis academy, get tons of private instruction, and play at least 6 times a week, with plenty of tournament play.  Just play tennis without such lofty goals, and have fun. You have no idea how good Division 1 players are.  Heck, you may not even make it on a good high school team with just 2 years of tennis.


  2. Dude you better start practicing like crazy. There was a guy named Cedric Peoline from france who started at 16 and made a couple grand slam finales. It is possible. Get to work.

  3. I'm going to be real; even though you won't like the answer... NO!! Try real hard, get a great coach and get lucky you might be able to play at a junior college.
